The Sound Blaster CS:GO Challenge has come to a close with SK Gaming winning it all by beating ESC Gaming 16-13 in the grand final. The grand final took place on de_dust2 just as the rest of the tournament, with SK Gaming starting as counter-terrorists. They were able to win the opening pistol round and the following save round, but Mariusz "Loord" Cybulski's three kills in the third round and four on the fourth to tie it up at 2-2. ![]()
Fifth round came down to a one-on-one with possibly the two best CS players of all time, with Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg edging out the win against Filip "Neo" Kubski this time. The game kept going back and forth with Cybulski getting three kills in a one-on-four situation a few rounds later but Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund got the best of him to even it up at 4-4. SK went on to win the next two rounds, but ESC tied it back up to 6-6 with a clutch by Cybulski against Alesund. The two teams were neck and neck throughout the half, as they traded more rounds only to even up at seven, before ESC scored the final round to switch sides with a 8-7 lead.
Second half started with a three kill round by Kubski which secured ESC the pistol round. SK attempted a force buy on the second round but only managed two kills and were forced to save after. The Swedes woke up at 0-3 though, winning four rounds in a row before ESC got one of their own to make it 12-11. SK quickly replied having found their tempo as terrorists, winning three in a row to make it 15-12 in their favor. As a desperate measure, ESC bought two shotguns that were able to cut SK's lead in two but in the end it was Lindberg who scored the last frag to lead SK to a 16-13 win.
